Brecon Beacons weekend guide 27th and 28th September

Day 1 Brecon Beacons 3 Peak Challenge

This ride is 48KM long containing a total elevation 5000ft. It is a full days ride with great scenery in the heart of Brecon Beacons. It has top view points with rollable rocky descents and some downhill routes in forest terrain.

It's a ride for those people who enjoy proper bike climbing up with great open scenery and downhill descents that are rollable, not technical.

The 3 challenging climbs along this route are called:

Sugar Loaf 1358 feet climb

Waun Fach 803 feet climb

Grwyne Fawr 2303 feet climb

Climb 1 Sugar Loaf

The first climb is a zig zag fire road aside Sugar Loaf Mountain which is a good warm up. This will be followed by a downhill descent with nice open scenery and finished with a forest descent.

Climb 2 Waun Fach

This second will be aside Waun Fach with a long cyclable elevation and will be followed with a rest at the top as the scenery is beautiful and then a descent into Talgarth for lunch.

Climb 3 Grwyne Fawr

The third climb is the most challenging climb with some steep sections which do require walking and bike lifting. E-Bikes will be fine as it's only small sections that will require pushing the E-Bike or cycling if your brave.

Day 2 Talybont-On-Usk Loop
