Day 1
3 Peak challenge
3 challenging climbs
48KM loop with 5000ft total climbing.

Climb 1

The first climb is a zig zag fire road aside Sugar Loaf Mountain which is a good warm-up. This will be followed by a downhill descent with nice open scenery and finished with a forest descent.
Sugar Loaf 1358 feet climb

Waun Fach 803 feet climb

Climb 2

The second climb will be aside Waun Fach with a long slow elevation up. This will be followed on with a rest at the top then a descent into Talgarth for lunch.

Climb 3

The third climb is the most challenging climb with some steep sections which do require walking and bike lifting. E-Bikes will be fine as it's only certain sections that require pushing the E-Bike or cycling if your brave.
Grwyne Fawr 2303 feet climb

Day 2: Talybont On Usk and the gap
This ride is a loop which starts at Talybont-On-Usk village car park then followed by a slow climb up 1700ft with beautiful views aside Talybont Reservoir.

Once reaching the top looking over the Brecon Beacons it will be a rocky ride downhill to a peaceful lake in the heart of Brecon Beacons. This is where the café stop will be for lunch.

After break will be a final climb up 1541ft to The Gap which has open scenic views looking over Pen Y Fan followed by a long rocky descent back down.

How challenging is this ride?
8 out of 10
Why?
Due to how long the climbs are throughout the 2 days. The descends are not too technical, containing loose rocky sections.
Overall this ride is for someone who can tackle 2 full on rides with steep long ups and rocky downs. Some ups are steep and require walking or hike a bike which will be taught throughout the rides

What equipment and bike do you need?
A bike that's classed as a Mountain Bike is required with at least front suspension. Also a bike with a good gear ratio for the steep hill climbs.

MUST HAVE A HELMET! No helmet no ride. Also would highly recommend gloves, glasses, knee pads and any other form of protection being a bonus.

Bike specific equipment is something I would recommend like inner tube, brakes pads, mech hanger (specific to your bike) etc.

Food and water is essential! This is a full days ride in a remote area and will require water and some food in the back pack for extra energy. There will be a lunch stop after the first 2 climbs.

Hot and cold temperatures happen on this route and you will need clothing to cover all weather conditions. It is Wales, rain can occur so please pack a waterproof jacket as weather is unpredictable.

Suitable for E-Bikes?
Yes the first 2 climbs are rideable but the last climb will require bike pushing. Also need to consider if your E-Bike battery will last 48km long and 5000ft total climbing.
