Forest of Dean is one massive Forest just on the outskirts of Wales set in Wye Valley. This forest has many fire roads which makes this place a Mountain Biking destination. In-fact it's classed as one of the best Mountain Biking locations in the UK.
Why it's one of the best Mountain-Bike places?
This location contains so much Forest and fire roads creating loads of trails linked together in a massive area. These trails are mainly roots and contain some proper good downhill sections.

This ride explores Wye Valley Lake, Symonds Yat, Cannop Ponds, Mallards Pike and many more locations.
The most common biking place is Pedalabikeaway. This place has 2 single-track trails and plenty of Downhill trails. This place has handmade trails which will be ridden during the Weekend as well as the off-piste trails.

Is this ride for me?

This ride has a mixture of trails from open off-road gravel riding to adventurous off-piste trails. Most of these trails have routes and rollable features. This weekend away is for someone who's had experience riding through tree roots in downhill terrain.
This ride will have slow elevation ups on bridle-ways and does require a middle fitness level that can handle slow hill climbs.
What equipment and bike do you need?
A bike that's classed as a Mountain Bike is required with at least front suspension.

MUST HAVE A HELMET! No helmet no ride. Also would highly recommend gloves, glasses, knee pads and any other form of protection being a bonus.​
​
Bike specific equipment is something I would recommend like inner tube, brakes pads, mech hanger (specific to your bike) etc.
​
Water and snacks are essential! This is a full days ride so water is required and snacks are required in your back-pack for extra energy.
​
Forest of Dean has unpredictable weather with rain sometimes occurring. I would highly recommend carrying a rain coat in the backpack.

Suitable for E-Bikes?
Yes totally suitable for E-Bikes but make sure your battery will last at least 7 hours riding.

Premier inn allows bikes in all hotels that if you don't feel safe keeping your bike in the car/van overnight you can take the bike to your room.
